I went downtown today to the site of the World Trade Center. I have been in the area a number of times, and have not been able to escape a feeling of great sadness.
I got off the subway and walked in front of the Federal Office Building, and was struck by this image. Seems to me that Lady Liberty was bent by the sadness of events, how prophetic!

Yes it's very sad to go Downtown now, they need to rebuild soon, I know things will never be the same but New York City needs to shine again.
